‘Kill Claudio’

This painting was inspired by a character from Much Ado About Nothing. Shakespeare encapsulates so much of humanity in his characters, not least Beatrice. Famous for her ‘merry war’ with Benedick.

A woman with an axe to grind. Indignant, resilient, quick-witted and ultimately fragile. The best and worst in all of us, she crosses the line with a simple devastating request  - to ‘Kill Claudio’

Study of a sunbather. Completely content in his own skin with nothing but a kitchen chair for comfort. Eyes closed, raising his face to the sky inviting the sun’s warmth.
